I HAVE spent the last three summers going in and out of Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The pollen has affected me badly so I ended up on the Acute Lung Ward, which is a bay on Ward 2.

On my last visit, the hospital was so busy I ended up on a surgical ward because only they had any empty beds.

During all this time I have seen articles in the press and on TV slating Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This made me so angry I felt I had to contact you with my experiences whilst in the hospital.

The nurses on the surgical ward were very kind and helpful, but I must say that the staff on Ward 2 were truly excellent in every way. I have heard of people going an extra mile, but the staff there do a marathon to ensure that patients are cared for.

Everyone from the cleaners up, and in particular Sister Rachel, is an absolute star.

The officials wandering around the hospital checking paperwork etc and making negative comments should talk to patients. I am sure there will be a different outcome.

Most people make a swift recovery thanks to the excellent care provided by Dr Edwards, Dr Shaw, Sister Rachel and her team.
