AS A council tax payer, whose tax pays for Dorset Police, I wondered if there is any chance via the Echo that anyone in Dorset Police would have the courage to answer the following question.
Why is it that travellers never go to court for no road tax, no insurance, littering, breaking and entering private or public land, defecating in a public place, criminal damage and many other offences?
Some years ago I was involved in a traveller incursion at Blackwater, where a number of vehicles were not taxed.
I raised the problem with the officers that attended and they told me not to cause any more problems, ie a breach of the peace, and go away.
Absolutely nothing was done and eventually the travellers were sent on their way. I wonder if I had trespassed or broken any laws, if I would be sent on my way to break the law again.
