BOURNEMOUTH’s popular charity swim will be returning in 2024 - with some new exciting changes.

The Pier to Pier Swim will return this summer, seeing hundreds of participants take on the 1.4-mile challenge.

The event, which will be held on Saturday, June 29, will help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.

Those taking the plunge will swim 1.4 miles starting at Boscombe Pier and ending at Bournemouth Pier for the first time.

Kate Sparks, senior events manager at the British Heart Foundation, said: “This is the first year we have switched the piers around so that participants triumphantly cross the finish line at Bournemouth rather than Boscombe, where the event festivities are taking place on Bournemouth beach.

“We hope that the change in finish location will create a more celebratory atmosphere for our lifesaving fundraisers.

“There is still time to sign up and take part in one of Europe’s largest open-water swimming events. Each stroke will help power research into heart and circulatory cures and treatments that currently affect over 7.6 million people in the UK.”
